WELCOME: We have the most exciting news this month! We have hired a Division Manager. Bobby Bennett (yes, he is Lewis’ brother) agreed to come to work with us and started on August 13, 2012. Bobby graduated from Sandhills with a degree in Horticulture and has been in the industry for 18 years. His specialty is in design plans and hardscape enhancements. He will be over installations and will be filling in on maintenance only as an emergency. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be bringing him around to introduce him to you. Help us to Welcome Bobby to the Green Dreams Family! If you are looking to have a re-design of your landscape call Brenda to set up an appointment for Bobby and I to come out and meet with you.

September Flowering Plants: Crapemyrtle, Rose-of-Sharon, Dahlia, Canna, Ginger Lily, Chrysanthemum, Spider Lily, Fall Crocus, Liriope, Sedum, Asters, Goldenrod, Joe Pye Weed, and summer annuals. If you would like more information on these plants let us know and we will be happy to share it with you.

Important News about Labor Day: Our office will be closed on Monday the 3rd of September for Labor Day. We will be resuming normal operations on Tuesday. We will be a day behind at the beginning of that week so if you normally have service on Fridays it may be Saturday before we get to you. I want to personally thank all of our employees for the hard work and dedication that they have given us this year so far. North Carolina had a record breaking temperatures in July (117 in some areas and Virginia had some at 118), I am thankful that no one had heat strokes. We are offering a 10% discount on renovations and enhancements during the month of September. Call today to get on the schedule for an estimate and you can meet Bobby!

Monthly Recipe: Texas Two Step Chicken (great if you are watching your weight) 2 lbs. (or so) boneless chicken (I used skinless breasts for me, and skin-on thighs for my husband, to accommodate different tastes) 1 1/2 cups of Pace Picante Sauce, or similar 1 tbs. Dijon mustard 3 Tbs. granulated Splenda or equivalent 1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick spray. 2) Put the chicken in pan. 3) Mix the salsa, mustard, and sweetener together, and pour it over the chicken. 4) Bake at 400 degrees F. for 20 minutes or so.
